About This Game Lovecraft’s Untold Stories is an action rogue-lite with RPG elements. You explore randomly generated levels based in H.P. Lovecraft stories, fighting cultists and all kinds of monsters from the Mythos, improving your weapons and gear, solving puzzles and challenges, and looking for clues and knowledge to defeat the Great Old Ones and the Outer Gods.LIVE H.P. LOVECRAFT’S STORIES Lovecraft’s Untold Stories is based on H.P. Lovecraft’s stories. You will experience first-hand the cosmic horror created by the genius of Providence. Every character will go through an investigation that will take them through different locations, from the creepy old Victorian mansion to the abandoned hospital where forbidden experiments take place or the jungle where lost tribes celebrate forgotten rituals, just to name a few. Levels are randomly generated: it will be a different experience every time you play. Also, they vary depending on the character you’re playing with. Look for items and clues to unlock secrets and new stories!5 CHARACTERS, 5 WAYS OF FIGHTING THE MYTHOSYou can play as 5 different characters, each with a different playstyle and storyline. A private detective, a witch, a thief, a professor, and even a ghoul—each with different stats, weapons, and combat moves, creating five entirely different gameplay experiences. The Detective offers a balanced playstyle, with average Health and Stamina. The Professor is a specialist in ranged combat, with less Health and a special shield granted by his weapon, the Tillinghast. The Witch does a lot of damage, has teleport abilities and elemental shields of fire and ice, but also a very low Health. The Thief is a specialist in melée combat that takes advantage of its stealth to maximize her damage. The ghoul does a lot of melée damage, has a high Health and regenerates itself, but can’t use medkits at all.DISCOVER THE SECRETS OF THE GREAT OLD ONESThe truth of the dark horrors that inhabit the universe is unbearable for any human mind. In the end, you can’t win against the Old Ones. Madness or death await you. Helped alot!. This is easily one of the best games I have played in quite some time. It has a surprising amount of depth to it, with various mission objectives per chapter, secret rooms you can find and a few puzzles here and there. Combat is quick and straight-forward. Item management isn't a chore and the items are actually useful enough to not be a waste of space. Enemies are fairly simple, but are well in keeping with the Mythos. Your choices concerning weapons and items can make difficult battles, easy or vice versa. Story elements exist and while simple, are fairly engaging. The levels themselves are randomly generated per play-through, and feature an appropriate and satisfying aesthetic. The use of insanity in this game is one of the simplest I have yet seen, but also the most effective. I have not yet beaten the game, but it has made me want to see the game through. Mythos games aren't easy to make well. The very nature of the genre makes it difficult to translate into games. But Untold Stories does a really good job, considering what it is. I would actually say that it is a better, more engaging, and fun to play, Lovecraftian game than some considerably more expensive titles out there. If you are into Lovecraft with a bit of action, you should definitely give Untold Stories a shot.. amazing game. so glad i bought it.. This game is exactly what it says it is. A rougulike with RPG elements that blend into a run and gun, fun time. The mythos is a great overlay and I greatly appreciate the depth the team went into in order to faithfully portray Lovecrafts (and others) creatures. So far the only issues I have had early access is with the inventory and equipming items onto slots. Other than that the game has played incredibly smooth for me. If you love the mythos, don't pass this up.. This game is a roguelike. A lovecraftian roguelike that still basically allows save loading between levels, has a nice sound design, and generally fun to play if you like roguelikes. Of course, it could improve on the rooms being more interesting than they currently are, but as it will become more and more patched and improved, i suppose it shall come too:3Overall, very nice, strongly built game worth the price.. The areas seemed very repetitive which made the game actually kind of boring. It was mostly wandering around areas looking for specific key types to open stuff up.. Fun little game!. It is still Early access, but I love it. This game is fun, challenging and offers a lot of exploration and discovery. I was first struck by its difficulty, but after the first couple levels, I got the hang of it, and it was more fun. Also, I like games that do not make things too easy, so there is a nice sense of accomplishment whn you actually beat a level. It looks like there are a few different branching story lines, so I hope to play through again and find some other stuff!If you like old-school graphics, and H.P. Let us tell you a story – we have, for once, time ahead before we resume our fight against the cosmic horrors.Since the very day that Lovecraft’s Untold Stories was released, there is one thing you keep asking for: Mouse controls. We started working on it at once as soon as we saw how important it was for many of you. But it wasn’t an easy task: there were a lot of technical complications – there always are with new features, especially when they affect something as core to the gameplay experience as controls are.We wanted it to be as versatile and comfortable as gamepad. To give you the possibility to shoot in 360º, and also to interact smoothly with the UI... And it seems that are going to make it!For the next update we will add mouse controls to the game. You can see in the gifs that go with the text, that they will work as if they were thought out from the very beginning.
